About
The Cultural Federations of Nova Scotia (CFNS) is a vital umbrella organization that strengthens and supports the province’s cultural landscape. Dedicated to fostering a thriving arts and culture sector, CFNS provides strategic infrastructure and resources to its eight member federations: Craft Nova Scotia, Dance Nova Scotia, Theatre Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Choral Federation, Association of Nova Scotia Museums, Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia, Visual Arts Nova Scotia, and Strategic Arts Management.
Through a collaborative governance model, CFNS unites these organizations to champion cultural growth, ensuring accessibility and sustainability for artists, creators, and communities across Nova Scotia. In addition to supporting its Full Members, CFNS extends services to Associate and Affiliate Members, promoting a shared vision of a culturally vibrant and inclusive province.
CFNS is governed by a Board of Directors, which includes the Executive Director or a senior staff member from each of the eight member organizations, as well as a board representative from each of their respective boards of directors.
CFNS is generously funded by the Province of Nova Scotia
